Never wild-harvested, our 4"+ white sage smudge bundles are responsibly grown in California and are hand-wrapped on a private nursery, cultivated with the utmost care to meet ethical sustainability standards and to ensure protection of the white sage species. In a commitment to sustainability, we source our 100% natural Palo Santo smudge sticks from communities in Ecuador who harvest Palo Santo wood from naturally fallen nursery graveolens trees at the end of their life cycle. These precious woods mature on the ground for a minimum of three years before they are broken down by skilled Ecuadorian artisans who exclusively use the aromatic heartwood of the Palo Santo, omitting the roots, the bark and the knots. The resulting smudge sticks are of the Palito variety – natural in appearance and embodying the true essence of Palo Santo.
